Emotions sell homes, not features. A listing description is abstract to a buyer who has been looking at hundreds of listings every day, day after day. A few square feet here, a nicer chandelier there, proximity to a school at house A, proximity to a lake at house B. They’re all great features, but buyers will only really remember how they felt when they saw the listing, not a feature or a general specification. How do you transmit the feeling and emotion of a house without having to bring every client to it in person?

That’s where our new family member comes in, the DJI Inspire 1 quadcopter. The ability to expand our creativity sky high is here to stir emotions. Nothing can capture the feeling of a house like video, and there’s no piece of technology that captures video like a quadcopter.

What is a “Quadcopter”

In the simplest terms, it’s a tiny remote helicopter that can fly high, fast, and completely under control using GPS location combined with user input. Ours happens to be fitted with a 4K video camera capable of capturing beautiful 12 megapixel stills as well. The built-in accelerometers and gyroscopes ensure silky smooth shots no matter the conditions.

What do we use it for?

The quadcopter complements our stunning video tours with aerial footage of a property. With a top speed of 80km/h it also allows us to cover vast expanses of land without leaving the home.

Large properties or homes with stunning locations are what the quadcopter was designed for. With just a few minutes of flight time we can capture sweeping beaches, city views, roaring waves, vast forests or rolling prairies. The emotion of a home lies in its surroundings as much as it does in the home itself. With our aerial videos, buyers can experience it all from the comfort of their own home. High quality videos with aerial footage make for lasting impressions opposed to features that are likely to be forgotten.

What doesn’t it do?

There isn’t much it can’t do, but we prefer to steer clear of dense inner city areas with power lines, large numbers of people and heavy traffic. Despite it’s advanced stability and control features, crowded streets, traffic and obstructions aren’t ideal conditions for a quadcopter.

Why do I need it?

If the amazing views and expansive coverage from a quadcopter don’t inspire you, and even if you aren’t a cinema buff, aerial views are a huge advantage when selling certain homes. Abstract measurements and descriptions simply can’t compete with a birds eye view of the real thing. If a prospective buyer is looking at two properties, the one they can actually see the physical size of and surrounding area will be more compelling simply because they’ve seen visuals. A beautiful video makes a lasting impression.

We’ll be adding sample videos in the coming weeks so stay tuned!
